Waves I

On Whidbey’s Open Studio Tour I visited an artist who painted the most exquisite waves on silk using an ancient Japanese method.  I wanted to create my own moving waves.  The large waves evolved they became the perfect background for a solitary giant of the ocean and I carefully placed the Orca Whale.

 The Orca whales often traverse the Saratoga Passage on the west side of Whidbey Island, Wa.

Featured Artist

During the month of August, 2010 Judith was the featured artist for Artworks Gallery. She  exhibited her illustrations for "The Legend of the Raven". A book release party and signing were held on First Friday. The book continues to be for sale at the gallery located in Greenbank Farms on Whidbey Island.

Oriental Lily

I think the bulb for this unusual lily came from the 2009 Northwest Garden show in Seattle. The color was truly a surprise. Acrylic on board 11 x 14 painting of this bi-colored lily in gold frame.
