Featured Artists for August

Acrylic and mixed media artists Judith Burns will be Artworks Gallery's featured artist for August.  Her exhibit, "Flights of Fancy" will be featured at the Frist Friday reception, August 3 from 5-8.  Live music will be provided by violinist Bev Heising. Wine tasting is available and light snacks will be served.

While living on Whidbey I have been fascinated by it's variety of birds.  From the small hummingbirds that flock to my back porch, to the large herons I see on the edge of the road, I try to capture in color and collage the beauty of these feathered inhabitants who share Whidbey with us.

Swallowtail

A beautiful tiger swallowtail landed in my garden, an invitation to catch him in paint and add it the the "Small Wonders" collection.  Acrylic on 5 x 7 canvas.

Spending the weekend supporting the Artist in Residence program in the South Whidbey Schools at the Festival of the Arts.
