S is for Snow

A Painting for the exhibit "Dance" that will accompany WICA's production of, "The Snow Queen".
This might be the Snow Queen.  I was working on a black and white when it so called for color. I decided it would either be purple or red.  Well, you can see which won.

Proud Mother

I came upon the mother and foul on the way to visit a friend. They were so beautiful I had to stop and take a photo.  The background is from another place and time, creating a composite painting.

Lady Gregory

Lady Gregory
Acrylic on canvas
11 x 14

For those who wonder, this is our dog, Lady, or Ladybug as I call her because of her black spots.  She is a wonderful greyhound whom we've had since she was 3 mo. old.  I think adopting greyhounds is a great thing to do, we've done it for years and some wonderful friends have come into our lives.

Reel/Real Music

For a show entitled, "Reels".
Reel/ Real Music
Collage on Canvas 12 x 24

Inspired by the Seattle Symphony who performed Bartok's, "Six Dances in Bulgarian Rhythm", on the opening night program 2013.  Five of the melodies appear in the painting.
I'm sure this performance was digitally recorded but, I needed a "reel" to fit the theme.

It's been a while but so glad to finish, "Ferry Lights"  an acrylic painting on 16 x 20 canvas.
