Reaching Out/Calla Lilies

Working on something new and trying stacked canvases
screwed together through stretcher bars aligned to cross using screws and small wooden spacers

Inspiration came from a friends yard where her beautiful calla lilies had fallen over in the rain. 

The top canvas is 20 x 16 and the bottom 40 x 30.

Metamorphosis

Loving the summer garden and all it's visitors This work is for the Butterfly who goes from the Hungry Caterpillar who changes into a beautiful winged being.

Mother & Daughter

I have been working on  a painting of the beautiful Itoh "Copper Kettle" peony my daughter gave me several years ago for Mother's Day.  It blooms with such exceptionally colored blossoms I had to try to capture it on canvas.
In searching for an name someone suggested, "Best Buds" and this seemed to be a reflection  our relationship.  I'm naming it for the two of us who have shared so many things and have laughed so hard so many times the tears rolled down our cheeks.  Love you daughter.

Fleur de papillon

My beautiful butterfly amaryllis bloomed this spring and I just had to use it for a stilllife.
