Japanese Anemone

I had such a good time working on the triptych I decided to try a diptych.
I choose an image from last summer's garden and divided it on two 14 x 11 canvases.
Think I'm ready for spring.

Eastern Sunrise

Eastern Sunrise
Triptych
Acrylic on 3  24 x 12 canvases

A painting inspired by an oriental chrysanthemum found in a friends garden.
The filmy pastel coloring of this painting imitates things seen in the early morning light before the sun has risen and the colors become more vibrant.

I would like to see this hung with about an inch of space between each panel.
The design continues around the edges.

Snowy sky

Had just a good time playing with a Golden acrylic product GAC.
The piece started with a collaged background which I dusted over with snow.  I sealed this with a thick layer of GAC and then added the snowflakes and repeated the GAC to make sure they were firmly adhered.

Inspiration for this piece came from a memory of looking up  at the sky during  a snow blizzard.  I'm not sure if it is from my childhood or from one of the Nor'easters we survived in the New England area.

January Gallery Exhibit

So happy with the first wall I  hung at Artworks Gallery for 2017.
The Dipladenia  ( from the Mandeville family ) painting was in dire need of a name and a friend suggest Social Climber.  Thought it was a great name, so I am pleased to present "Social Climber" for the first time.  Thought the gold back ground of the orchids, "Dancing Ladies" made a nice companion, so planned around the gold influence in this lay out of my paintings.
Hope you enjoy them.

Social Climber

This lovely vine in the Mandevilla family bloomed so beautifully last summer I had to paint it.  This is the Dipladenia variety, it's more bushing than the vining Mandevilla, although it is vining up a black wire trellis.

Walk through Paradise Garden

Working on something old.  Always like the composition, but didn't feel finished.  Liking it better, not sure it's finished.

It's been a while but so glad to finish, "Ferry Lights"  an acrylic painting on 16 x 20 canvas.
