Daybreak II

In the middle of winter thinking back to memorable times last summer.
Playing with complementary colors, blue and orange. And looking for a feeling of dance in the clouds with the bird adding to the movement.

Winter Solstice

I tune the hearth song of my soul
loving words upon my lips,
light-giving songs upon my heart,
life-bringing praises upon my eyes,
The music of comfort resound in the
souls of all beings,
preserving them in peace
as the sun and new moon renew themselves
this night.

Winter Solstice is a celebration of the darkest time of the year, when the moon reigns with it’s promise of renewal.  A time for rest, reflection and refreshing, a time to make resolutions for the coming year.  Each falling leaf continues an ancient poem wafting though the cool winter air to drift into our minds and help us make thoughtful choices and aid us in our life decisions.

The poems used come from a Celtic devotional and the Carmina Gadelica.

It's been a while but so glad to finish, "Ferry Lights"  an acrylic painting on 16 x 20 canvas.
