Back to Bach

My wonderful Afternoon Painting group was discussing Baroque Artists and several of us decided it would be fun to paint something in the style of the old masters.  As a retired musician I was more interested in the still life with musical instruments than the florals.  So I set up a still life on the piano, did a couple photos shoot, and started painting.  Later I found the fascinating Baroque Manuscript on line showing the performance for designated ornamentation used by Baroque Musicians such as Bach.  (At that time performing artist were  expected to be knowledgeable enough to perform most of the music with out such marking.  Most were added later to specify  performance ornamentation practices.)  I decided to collage it into the space originally designated to be a mirror behind the piano.
