Wade in the Water

Coming up in my notices I saw a gallery presentation titled, Black is a Color.

Starting with a Black ground I collaged the beautiful paper I found at a garden shop in Seattle.  Then I added the the rest with acrylics
Someone asked me, " what are the birds looking for?  "
I replied probably fish or fox.

Lightening.

A small partner in the same style as the horse.
After last weeks storms decided to name the horse, Thunder and his friend the deer, Lightening.
Using the same technique I have painted the sweet deer who stands on his hind legs and munches apples from my friends tree.

Thunder

Yes, he's definitely a horse and for some unknown reason I seem to want to call him Mycroft. But after last nights storm I've decided on Thunder.

This all started as a acrylic pour.  then added a couple herons, then decided they should be in the rain and tried to glaze some mist over them. Really not good.
Next step was a lot of sanding it was very bumpy from a thick paint I had incorporated into pouring mixture.
Then I covered the whole canvas with a palate knife using light molding paste  emulating old barn wood. Then, of course,  the barn needed a horse

Colors of Winter

Lots and Lots and Lots of snow.  The Seattle area hasn't had this much snow since 1946.  So here is a painting inspired by the little tree on the side of our yard.  I decided it would be fun to place him in the woods.  The abstract shapes formed by the snow on his branches are what really fascinated me.

Really like the antiqued off white frame I found.

Close to Home

Inspired by a picture of a beautiful sunset taken while riding the ferry home the other day.  Now  I'm snowed in it's a good time to catch up on some things. Thinking I will do a little more detailing on the Lighthouse. There's been a major discussion on whether it should have a black or gold frame.  Whoever buys it can decide which they prefer.

Morning flight

Playing with poured paint and needed a subject.  With some highlighting and a few splatters the background became wave in a sunrise.  So added some butterflies for the  subject.

Already few to an exhibit to replace "Rainy Day" which sold.

Philodendromania

Playing with beautiful wooden stamps giving to me by a friend I have placed them in a philodendron monstera., a native of Mexico.   Many of my friend have these monsters growing in their house,  OK I'm one of them, Where they try to grow to their full size.  In reference to their size, they can grow over to 30 ft.  .  You need a really LARGE space to gracefully accommodate them.

It's been a while but so glad to finish, "Ferry Lights"  an acrylic painting on 16 x 20 canvas.
